Muppet fans, commence salivating. The first season of The Muppet Show will be released on August 9. The set will included a slew of extras, including a gag real, a Jim Henson retrospective, and the possibility of not one but two pilot episodes. Up to this point, fans have had to settle for occasional morsels from Time-Life video and substandard TV movie fare. Now we have 24 episodes of pure, Henson-grade Muppet hilarity. Also look for the DVD release of The Muppet’s Wizard of Oz around this time. I mean, don’t actually buy it, just look at it and then purchase the season one DVD. You’ll be much happier. They are releasing some real gems on DVD. The muppets are great. The Muppets Wizard of Oz? Think I missed that one ... and will keep missing it.
