Well, you certainly can't say that the Desperate Housewives season finale skimped on the action or answers. They even shortened the theme song so they could get right to the story. What really happened to Zach's (Dana's) real mother? Is Mike going to kill the person in his back seat? Will Rex find out that George has been poisoning his meds? Will Carlos find out about Gabrille's infidelities? This was a really satisfying episode. Click below for all the answers (but not if you haven't seen the episode yet!)... - As the episode went along, I actually figured out about halfway through that Zach just might be Mike's son. That's an interesting plot.
- Mary-Alice is the one who killed Deidre? Wow.
- Mike changes his mind about killing Paul after hearing the real story.
- A new family moves in, and though they're only on the episode for about 2 minutes you know right away they're keeping some juicy secret.
- John spills the beans to Carlos about his, um, extra "gardening duties," causing Carlos to flip out in court and pretty much secure his jail time.
- Tom quits and tells Lynette she's going back to work full-time. (That just might turn out to be a master stroke by the writers, giving Lynette a job away from the kids).
- Rex dies believing Bree was trying to kill him. What else can happen to this family? (Though I won't believe he's dead til I see a body!)
- Zach clobbers Mrs. Tilman with a hockey stick, then holds a gun on Susan in Mike's house as Mike walks in the door...
- But a question left unanswered: where the hell has Andrew been lately? Or did I miss something?
All and all, quite a season-ender. What did you think?

Andrew's no doubt working on his plans to make his mother's life a living hell as he promised to the priest a few episodes ago.
I wish I put this in print earlier, but I predicted the Tom as Mr. Mom happening in the finale. It made sense for next season.
More horn tooting: I called it earlier on Rex being the dead one. ;-)

Darn it! My prediction was way off! Definately will be interesting to see what happens with Mike. As for Andrew, now that his father has died (who seemed most close with) I think he will change his ways.

Call me crazy, but this episode just didn't do a whole lot for me. Yes, it was a reasonable wrap-up of all lingering storylines. But for an episode that was supposed to have the Biggest Shocker and the Biggest Cliffhanger, I didn't think it was so amazing.
The only new information about Mary Alice's storyline is that it was she, herself, who killed Deirdre. But considering we've known all the other details for at least 3 weeks (or could at least put them all together), it just didn't feel like that significant a reveal.
Killing off Rex was a surprise though. I really didn't think they'd actually kill off one of the husbands.
A pretty solid season ender, but I was expecting more whoppers than we got.

The finale was great but it didn't leave much for next season. I find it kinda odd that they introduce new characters but forget about the old ones(Bree's children). Those new characters seem to have a secret but it is kind of uninteresting because it is not related to the other big secrets....well even thought those aren't really secrets anymore but anyways...new characters not so good move there I believe that the next season will lose a lot of their usual viewers(not me).

I guess on Good Morning America this morning they were going to show some sort of extra scene from the show, but no idea what that is. If anyone sees it, please post below and let us know!

I think they gave us a couple of good cliffhangers... first, is zach killing his 99% possible father as he walks in? (the kid is disturbed, thats something we know for sure), is bree going after that pharmacist to make him pay for his sins? (is she changing her compulsive cleaning habits?) , is gabrielle going to face carlos after what she did to him? is he going to be in jail forever now? and what is lynette going to do away from her kids? whats that secret her husband had that shared with his father and that we didn't really hear about? oh, and yeah, what a spooky woman that new neighbour eh?

It took you till the middle of this show to figure out that Zack is probably Mike's son?
Really?
Didn't you figure it out when they found out it was Diedre's body in Zach's toy chest (and we knew Diedre was involved with Mike somehow)?

Actually I was disappointed,
The only thing that was answered was the whole Mary Alice thing; I knew that it was Deirdre the killed and I guessed that mike might be Dana/Zach’s father. But I wanted more answers like what was the secret tom was keeping???

It hit me last night before I went to sleep. Of course Rex isn't dead! Rex came to agree with his doctor that Bree was trying to kill him, so they went foward with this elaborate hoax to try to catch her. Notice how she reacted without emotion when she was told he was dead. Notice that she didn't rush to the hospital. Notice that she finished polishing the silver instead. This will all be played up next season as an investigation (and trial?) against Bree for attempted murder ensues. And that's where her son will somehow screw her over with his "version" of the story. Mark my words.

Vince,
I see the "goodbye" note is part of the plan. When Bree does (eventually) comes to the hospital, they will show her the note and explain that the body is undergoing a mandatory autopsy. They showed Rex in hysterics while writing the note. If that had been caused by his heart, they would have whisked him into surgery. No, he was upset because of what he had "learned" about his wife. Going ahead with the plan to "catch" Bree was ripping him apart. (Remember also that Bree had made a pact with Rex that the two were now "even". This will also play against her).

Bebop: Tom's secret?
Limbic: Bree polishing her silver after hearing the news of Rex's death has nothing to do with whether or not she knows he's alive or not. It's just part of who she is, the compulisive neat freak, the Stepford Wife-ish perfectionist. (And remember she did break down a minute later.) Though as I said, I agree that it's very, very possible that Rex is still alive.

Has anyone thought that it's only Paul's version of events that we saw? He's not exactly likely to tell Mike that he killed Deidre, after all.

Bob Sassone,
You missed my point about Bree and polishing the silver. (Of course that is part of her persona.) My point, however, is that the fact that she polished the silver after being told of Rex's "death" will be used against her. She will probably freely admit that she polished the silver after being told of Rex's death, thinking nothing wrong with it, but others will see it as proof she didn't care for her husband. Perhaps her son will lie and say that it was not part of her persona.

Bob Sassone,
Yes tom had a secret, at the end of the episode when his dad came for a visit tom and his father were talking at the table and tom couldn't sleep because he was worried that something Lynette does not know about was going to break them up. Considering that before hand Lynette went on a rant about "if you cheat I will take the kids and you will never see them again" or something to the effect. Even E!'s talk with Kristen stated that his secret was something more than just him cheating.
Lascap why are you posting a petition of against what the creators wanted PLUS you dont even know where the story is going yet so chillax bro!

How could rex not be dead?
if there's really gonna be sorta trial against Bree, do u think they're gonna hide him for weeks?
that would make me laugh a lot.
Anyway, I can't stand zack since the first episode (and of course he's mike son). Gabrielle is my fav character, so funny.
When second season will be aired in US?

What if Zach is actually Tom's? This could explain Tom secret: he had a relationship with a woman 15 yrs ago and he knows that he gots a child somewhere even though he never met him.
What do ya think??
