If you want me the rest of the day, I'll be curled up in on my couch drinking heavily: ABC is putting Eyes on the bench for the rest of May sweeps. And that's never a good sign for a show that's on the bubble when it comes to being renewed. Heavy sigh. First that Primetime Live special on American Idol pre-empted the show, and now they're putting a &$@!#! Supernanny family update show (let's check in and see if little Jimmy is still being a terror!) on in the time slot next week, because everyone in the galaxy wants to see a Supernanny family update show. So it looks like Eyes won't be back in the fall, and it's especially troubling because this isn't a show that will garner a lot of "save this show!" attention like Arrested Development, and we'll also be lucky to ever see the show on DVD. It's amazing to me how quickly a network will get rid of a show, and will just dump it instead of giving it a chance to build an audience. Hey ABC, could you at least show the 6 or 7 episodes that are left?

Hmmmm. Didn't you just say that NBC was desperate for good hour dramas? Maybe they could grab "Eyes" AND "24".

Maybe 24. I really doubt anyone would ever be interested in Eyes.

I hope NBC would pick up Eyes. It's a great comedic drama that really showcases Tim "Superman" Daly. If not them, then USA, FX, someone, grab it!

That sucks that Eyes might not be picked up for next season. It was one of my new favorite shows.
I agree with TheMatt, though. Eyes seems like it would be one of those shows that could fair better on USA or FX.

Too bad, this show is so cool... and so much more original then Grey's Anatomy, which has been renewed (not big surprise there).

Not so. In fact, the movement was already underway before ABC made the sweeps announcement. The site and SOS info can be found at http://www.saveeyes.com - Our petition already has over 500 signatures (in the four days since it went public). We've recently added a pledge to the campaign as well, which collects demographic info along with a promise to recruit new viewers.
Drop in, sign the petition, sign the pledge and feel welcome to promote our site.

Brooke, that's FANTASTIC. You know, I was seriously considering doing something like that myself, so I'm glad to see it's already up. Hopefully ABC will see they have a good show on their hands and give it time to grow, maybe in another time slot.

I totally agree with all comments made re: Eyes.
It is fast, bright, and entertaining - therefore it must go. Of course, I liked Sports Night and Keen Eddie -

P.A., I'm a huge fan of both Sports Night and Keen Eddie too. Both cancelled much too soon. Thankfully they're both available on DVD!

I was hoping that ABC would have re-considered in keeping 'Eyes'. I'm seeing a very disturbing trend here where a lot of these Reality Shows are given more chances than a black cat. Yet a show, like Eyes, that's well written or makes you think, ends up on the cutting board. Of course out of all the Networks, FOX is still netorious for this sort of thing. Cancelling good shows for garbage television (Reality junk and retarded comedy sitcoms). I hope ABC will at least air the remaining episodes of Eyes, and sell the show to another network. But I'm sure they'll find an excuse to do neither.
