Last
night I was rushing around the house to get ready for going to a Cubs
game (they lost to the Reds 11-9). The one thing I forgot of course
was to TiVo American Idol and Scrubs. At some point in the first
inning I turned to my better half, the AI fanatic, and it hit me. I
had forgotten to tape AI. Oh the rage that quickly boiled in that
Wrigley Field seat. Luckily she got on the horn and had someone
tape the show on this ancient machine called a VCR and the night was
saved. At least it was for me, the Cubs came back from a huge
deficit and then blew a lead.Photo: "Dawg! How'd you forget AI?"

I know it can happen with one-time programs, but how on Earth does someone manage to forget to TiVo something they watch every week? I mean, doesn't the TiVo take care of that, it's one of the reasons the rest of us love them so much.

All you needed was a web-enabled cell phone and TiVo's Home Media Option. Remote scheduling rocks. Problem solved.

Bah. With InterneTIVO (aka, any number of TV bittorrent sites) you don't have to care if you forgot something, or if there's a show time conflict.
hail technology!

#1, wont work if it's too close to the showing or if the show started. At least that's how it was before I dumped Tivo 5 months ago when comcrap took over my apartment complex and gave us their DVRs.

I don't get it. With TiVo, you should have a Season Pass to AI. There is no forgetting. Or are you talking about some knockoff DVR that doesn't have Season Passes?

Keith,
TiVo is a DVR,
I don't do bittorent video and haven't even done audio since I got a new computer. I hav emore space now just not the time to set it all up. The problem is we should do a season pass of AI but because of this site I have to watch and tivo different things depending on the week. (what I can watch live and tivo depends on family schedules etc). So Season Passes don't work great. None of the "smart" features work well and gee whiz no web phone. I have whatever the free nokia was when I signed up for my plan.

Don't worry everyone, I have VHS tape of last night's AI in hand. (I actually had to call my boss and ask her to tape it for me.) I will make sure Dave is caught up before the elimination show tonight. Oh, by the way...my boss, who had never watched the show prior to last night, said the only one she liked and had talent was Federov!

Is there a place online to watch/stream the AI performances? I missed last night as well, and am curious how a few of these songs turned out. Guess I'll deal with the snippets on the results show.
Go Reds! Too bad the Cubs returned the favor today...

Dave, get two Tivo's for the price of one. Here's how I did it: http://www.gudlyf.com/archives/2005/04/05/lower-your-tivo-fee/
