Like, this is going to be totally great! May 19th may see the release of the final film in the Star Wars pre-trilogy, but Lucas isn't ready to give up the ghost yet. At the Star Wars Convention this weekend in Indianapolis (dubbed "Celebration III") Lucas announced that Star Wars has a future in television. Two series are already on their way: the first a Pixar-type endeavor, based on the Clone Wars cartoon shorts, the second will be live-action, loosely modeled on Lucas's failed The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Taking a cue from LOTR's Peter Jackson, Lucas will film the entire first season in one swoop. Shooting is scheduled for 2006, then Lucas plans to wash his hands of the whole fiasco and walk away with the money, while other, weaker Jedis scurry to pick up the slack.
