The
country isn't that interested in beauty pageants anymore. The Miss
America pageant only drew 9.8 million viewers in 2004 leading ABC to
dump the annual catwalk for 2005. Now the show is looking for a TV
home and is using the William Morris agency to sell it. Fear Factor
had lead-in episodes for Miss USA but those stunts have actually had
higher ratings than the show itself. Some folks would rather see an
end to Miss America than have the contestants eat cow intestines or
hold their breath in a box filled with scorpions. We agree. Miss America begging to come back to TV

Maybe if they did it as an actual beauty pageant and skipped the "talent" we'd watch.
