Will Arnett, who plays the stunningly
moronic Gob on Arrested Development, will star in a new comedy from
the same team behind AD. The untitled comedy will be for Universal
Pictures and the set-up sounds kind of lame. Arnett goes to his 20th
high school reunion and lies to his former crush that he's a wealthy
New Yorker. The trick is the girl falls for it and comes to New York.
Hilarity ensues when Arnett's character tries to keep up the act. Doh! moment: Sorry it's going to be a film. Sorry about that.

It's a movie, not a TV show. Still sounds lame, but it only has to sustain itself for 90 minutes. Well, 71 minutes. 64 minutes. The best 53 minutes you'll ever spend in a theatre!

Which is good, because a major cast member of AD starting work on another show... that wouldn't bode well.

This project is a Universal Pictures movie, not a tv show. Longevity isn't an issue since it will only be an hour and a half long.

Amen to that. Anyway, plenty of good films have lame-sounding premises. I mean, someone erases a guy from her memory cause they had a bad break-up? Who'd guess that would become an incredibly artful, intriguing film?
