Everyone is out campaigning to keep
their favorite shows on the air including Michael Davis of TV
Guide. He wants to keep American Dreams on NBC even though
the network will probably cancel it. The series has a loyal following
and is one of the few “family friendly” shows on the air. But do
enough people care about the lives of the Pryor family to keep
American Dreams alive? What do you think? Should the family
that absolutely everything happens to, be kept on the air? Save or kill American Dreams?

I love American Dreams. I have watched it from the start. It brought back great memories and great music. Meg is a little older than I was at the time frame of American Dreams but I can relate to so much. It is a great FAMILY show - one that all ages can watch. So why is a show like this endangered? Why can't good family shows stay on? Not all of us like the harsh reality shows. American Dreams is a wonderful show. Keep it on! I am sick of Law & Order spinoffs. I am not going to watch any more. I am switching to cable movies!

American Dreams is the best family program on tv - it is the only thing worth watching on NBC - although I do enjoy the Apprentice. Since I was from the era of Dreams I absolutely sit rivited each week and remember how deeply those events shaped my life so strongly. The actors are all incredible - the editing is the best of any show ever and it would be such a shame to cancel it now. Since I went to Kent State I want that event to be shown in a couple years!! Please NBC save this show - give it a decent time slot - not opposite LOST - it is not like you have anything else worth watching on your network!!!

When I first heard about the cancellation I put it on my blog. I can tell you that I'm getting dozens (if not over a hundred) hits a day on the subject, mostly people coming in from the search engines. While that's hardly enough traffic to keep a series afloat, we're talking about a small little family site that maybe sees 500 hits a day, so the subject is carrying the majority of my traffic right now.
Why shouldn't it stay on tv? "Everything" hardly happens to them. Nobody's pregnant, or made a porn movie, or turned into a lesbian, or killed anybody.
Wait...I think I just described why it shouldn't stay on tv. :-(

AMERICAN DREAMS is the best show!!!! My husband and I watch it every time it is on TV. It is one of the best family shows on television today. There should be more shows like this on TV today. There is enough trash in the world. We love the characters and the music. I'm sure there are alot of people who love this show but do not realize it is in danger of being cancelled. The networks should air a primetime special telling viewers which shows are in danger. The networks should then offer a website and toll free number that allow viewers to vote for their favorite shows - the ones they would like to keep on the air. NBC should listen to their viewers.

If they cancel American Dreams I may stop watching NBC altogether. I guess it is hard for a good quality family show to compete with all the "reality" programming. Maybe it's the excellent writing, acting, and plots that are ruining it- I mean I guess maybe they feel the show needs more sex, cursing, violence and nudity, and inappropriate behavior to be a quality show in this day and time. My family and I watch this show together every week and have since episode 1. It is one of the ONLY shows on you can sit and watch together, and the kids and the adults all enjoy it and feel comfortable watching together as a family.

What a dissapointment!. Of all the shows I've anticipated for next season, American Dreams was my favorite. The characters, music, subject and feel were so nostalgic. It's unfortunate that shows with little value were chosen over this one. What a shame. I will certainly miss it.

They should not cancel American Dreams.
It is much too good of a show, for it to end.I think they should keep it on,change nights back to Sundays, and see if it picks up the ratings again.
NBC is making a BIG mistake, pulling this beautiful show.

It is so unfortunate that NBC won't be bringing back American Dreams for the Spring line up I had been keeping my fingers crossed. I wonder if it hits to close to home after all we are involved in another loosing war aren't we.
