Plenty of flashbacks bring us closer to who Sophie really is and a better understanding of Ben’s earlier visions of the Usher. A successful suspense-filled chase leads to an anti-climatic fight between Ben and Justin, but it was Sophie that was really the climax. I guess we figured out why she is the Omega now. I almost feel gypped, I was hoping for more of a finale. The Sophie/Justin link will lead to an interesting third season, if there is to be one. The episode left me empty; I still love the story, but something was missing.

I share your emptiness. After trudging through two seasons of achingly slow plot development I was certainly hoping for something more full at the end.
And now, knowing that there may be absolutely no resolution, it really hurts. Season three could be outstanding, or it could simply be another twist on the chase theme. But likely, it will be nothing at all.
Too bad.

WOW, I can't believe I'm hearing anything negative about this fantastic second season. This was surely the best written television I've seen in quite some time. Anyone who left disappointed with Carnivale at all simply didn't get it.
